
The program offers a foundation in criminal law, police administration, criminology, communications and writing skills. The program focuses on real-world application of criminological principles. Courses are taught by current and former law enforcement personnel, so students enrolled in the program will be able to gain valuable insight into the working world of law enforcement. Individuals currently employed in law enforcement and currently certified may be eligible for credit for criminal justice academy training by submitting official academy transcripts to the Admissions Office. The S.C. Criminal Justice Academy also accepts certain NETC courses.

Associate in Applied Science in General Technology – Criminal Justice - (AAS.GEN.CRJ)
The Northeastern Technical College (NETC) associate degree in General Technology-Public Service Criminal Justice track has been developed as a way for area residents to begin their career in public safety, or for those already in the sector to advance into supervisory and managerial roles. There are a wide range of roles in law enforcement, corrections, juvenile justice, and other related fields in Chesterfield, Dillon and Marlboro Counties, and NETC is positioned to help get you there! Many of our students have already established careers in criminal justice, so there are opportunities for new women and men looking to break into the career field to network within our classrooms. NETC has bridge programs with The Citadel and Coker College that allows NETC students to earn a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
