Yazmine Hardwick of Dillon was recently awarded Northeastern Technical College's Human Resources (HR) scholarship for $500. The scholarship was created in 2021 to help develop future innovative leaders in the human resources career field.
Hardwick is currently enrolled in NETC's associate degree in business administration program and working as an intern in the college's human resources department. Yazmine is on track to graduate in December 2021, and plans to transfer to a four-year university to earn her bachelor's degree, so she can ultimately pursue a career in the field of human resources.
"We are pleased to award Yazmine this scholarship and welcome her as our first intern in this new program," said Christi Meggs, NETC's director of human resources. "She has been a great addition to the HR team this semester, bringing new ideas to the table while also assisting the department in the research and development of wellness strategies, employee engagement initiatives, and our onboarding process."
The Human Resources scholarship was established with funding NETC received in recognition of the CUPA-HR Innovation Award won in 2020 for the college's Key Performance Indicator (KPI) bonus program.
The HR scholarship is available to NETC student interns who are enrolled in the business management program and pursuing a certificate or career in human resources management. To learn more about this program, please call 800-921-7399.
