NETC Minimester: Same college credit, less time

It's that time of year, where students and faculty at Northeastern Technical College are starting to talk "mini." But, this "mini" has nothing to do with a plan to get thin, and everything to do with getting the most out of your education.
NETC's Spring Minimester will begin February 16, giving new, returning or current students another opportunity to earn college credit before the upcoming summer and fall semesters. The Minimester allows students to stay on track, or sometimes get ahead by taking needed courses, in a shorter time, and in some cases, a more convenient setting.
The Minimester is a 10-week shortened term that offers online courses and day and evening classes at college campuses in Cheraw, Bennettsville and Dillon. This semester English 100 and 102 are also being offered, in an even shorter 8-week format, beginning March 9.
In response to local demand, many of the programs this Minimester are being offered online, including Medical Office Terminology, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminal Law I, College Algebra, Human Resources Management, American History and General Psychology.

A number of business and computer technology classes, including payroll accounting, office procedures, microcomputer spreadsheets and small business management will be available during the evening at campuses in Cheraw, Bennettsville and Dillon.

For a complete list of Minimester courses, visit www.netc.edu and look for "Courses" under the "Academic Pathways" drop menu.
New or returning students should register February 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 4 to 6 p.m. at the Student Services Office.
Students who are currently enrolled full time (taking at least 15 credit hours) can add a Minimester course with no additional tuition fees. Current students can see their advisors to add a class.
Financial Aid is available, but applications are required and must be submitted in advance.
New students can submit applications for admission online through February 11 by visiting the Admissions page of the college website, www.netc.edu, and clicking on "Apply Online Now." An application can also be downloaded by clicking on "Download Application."
Paper based applications are available and will be accepted at college campuses in Cheraw, Bennettsville or Dillon. For more information, call 1-800-921-7399 and choose option 1 for admissions.
