Northeastern Technical College awarded three individuals with $300 in scholarships at homecoming games at Cheraw High, Chesterfield High and Latta High School on October 3.
Winners of the first round of scholarship drawings were Alana Melton of Chesterfield, Marian McManus of Cheraw, and Dakota Love of Latta. The scholarships can be used by the recipients to apply towards tuition for college credit and/or continuing education (non-credit) classes at any NETC campus or online.
NETC will be holding additional scholarship drawings at Dillon High School on October 10, Central High and Marlboro County High on October 17, and also at McBee High and Lakeview High on October 24 to give away five more $300 scholarships.
Anyone can enter to win a scholarship by completing a registration card, which will be distributed and collected during the football game. The scholarships will be non-transferrable, with an expiration date of 36 months following the award date. One name will be drawn, and winner announced, at each high school listed above, prior to the end of game.
Northeastern Technical College offers hundreds of college credit classes, for those seeking an associate's degree, or interested in transferring to a four-year college or university. In addition, NETC's Division of Continuing Education has many programs designed for people looking for short-term classes to develop new job skills, advance in the workplace, or even for personal enrichment.
High school junior and seniors can apply the scholarship towards dual enrollment/credit courses being offered at NETC, their school, and/or online, to help jump start their college career. To learn more about how junior and seniors can earn college credit while in high school, contact NETC's Dual Enrollment Coordinator at 843-921-6995 or speak to your high school advisor.
