Compass Point 4k Drive-Up Completion Ceremony

Compass Point 4k at Northeastern Technical College (NETC) held a drive-up completion ceremony on Friday, May 29, to celebrate the accomplishments of their students.

The Compass Point 4K completion ceremony marks the program's second year of successful operation. It was a very productive, yet unusual, school year. While all the children made significant academic and developmental progress, the year ended quite differently than expected with regular, well-received, and well-attended remote learning classes and virtual family participation sessions.

2020 Compass Point 4k Graduates:
Aamari Faith Delores Black, Ayden Jonah Dontaé Blount, Abigail Bragg, Elias Abram Fair, Kaylen Bryanna Foster, Sa'nya Lanea Harris, Alena Rain Melton, Marcus Andre Roscoe, Addison Grace Shaw, Alexis Diane Sloan, Taylor Donella Sprinkle

Compass Point 4K is a collaborative effort between NETC and Chesterfield County First Steps to provide quality care and first-rate education to help children prepare and transition into kindergarten. It will begin its third year of operation this fall under strict health safety measures to ensure that all children and staff are safe and well as they prepare for their future academic journey.

"NETC is proud the program is housed on our campus and is entering its third year," said Dr. Kyle Wagner, NETC President. "We hope the experiences on campus will leave a lasting impression on young minds that ultimately lead them back to college as they continue their academic adventures in the future."

This fall, the program is upgrading its classroom environment to maximize each child's learning experience and realize each child's developmental potential with a significant expansion of its outdoor learning environment. "We are very excited about the coming year at Compass Point," said Director Karen Martini-Waller. "We are blessed with an excellent teacher and outstanding teacher assistants and interns. We have a wonderful facility here at NETC, and it will be even better this fall with our classroom enhancements and playground enrichment. As many of our parents and former students will attest, we are completely focused on the academic success and the social and physical developmental achievement of each of our students."

Compass Point 4K is now Chesterfield County's only 4K program to achieve an "A" rating from the South Carolina DSS Division of Early Care and Education ABC Quality Assessment Process. Fall enrollment is now open. For Applications, visit or call 843-921-1452.
