ASSIST to Work Job Fair planned for students and public

An ASSIST to Work job fair will be held at Northeastern Technical College's (NETC) Cheraw campus, Thursday, October 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Hampton Hall Auditorium (Building 200).  All job seekers in Chesterfield County and the surrounding areas are invited to attend this event.

Individuals seeking employment should come dressed in appropriate business attire and bring resumes highlighting both their work and educational history.

The job fair is made possible through the Accessible Support Services and Instruction for Sustainable Transition (ASSIST) to Work Grant.  ASSIST to Work is a program designed to provide job readiness/employability skills to participants to prepare them to succeed in today's workforce.

Individuals who need help completing a resume can receive assistance at the ASSIST Workforce Readiness Center located in Room 117, Ingram Hall (Building 100) at the Cheraw main campus.

The ASSIST Workforce Readiness Center (WRC) counselors can help with the preparation of resumes and cover letters, searching and applying for jobs, understanding business etiquette and also preparing for interviews.  Additional services at the WRC include helping job seekers determine career interests and goals, assessing job readiness skills, and consulting on educational pathways.

For individuals who are interested in learning about additional workforce readiness programs and educational opportunities at NETC, there will also be college representatives from the continuing education department present to talk about programs and career pathways designed to train specifically for jobs that are now hiring in the area.
