When did you start working for NETC? Full-time since 2015 (worked as an adjunct first)
What is your primary function/responsibility in your role at NETC? Online instruction, classroom instruction, classroom preparation, on-line presentation of materials (distance learning), , registration, advising , development of curriculum and lesson plans, and in assisting in other areas as assigned.
How will you help NETC accomplish its Mission to prepare the workforce of Chesterfield, Marlboro, and Dillon counties through education and training? I will be innovative in meeting the educational needs of NETC learners, community, and region. In my classes, I will cultivate an educational environment that supports the student experience and achievement of educational goals both on campus and in the community.
What is one interesting thing most people do not know about you (hobby, talent, place lived, places traveled, etc.)? I was born an identical twin.
What is a positive experience you've enjoyed while working at NETC? My student teaching experience at NETC continues to be the best, most informational and inspiring experience. Generally, I have a great time with my students, and I could not have asked for a better support from my colleagues and Department Dean. I felt supported from day one, and she gave me the confidence I needed to keep progressing. Interacting with my students, have always been fantastic. It has gone to another level since I have been teaching Theater.
What is a motivational thought you'd like to share with Prospective Students, Current Students, and/or Alumni? My late brother used a Mark Twain saying in one of his many great sermons years ago ...that I keep in mind. He said " It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." In other words, a person who is determined to reach a goal is not limited by what is considered obstacles by most.
