Short-Term Workforce

Complete any of our short-term workforce certificate programs and you can get started on a new career path fast!  Northeastern Technical College has many career certification programs starting each semester, and all of the programs featured on this page are in high demand in Chesterfield, Marlboro, and Dillon Counties.  Finanancial assistance is available for all students through federal grants and workforce development funding.

Warehousing, distribution, and logistics is a growing career field with many openings in the area and more than 600,000 US job openings projected over the next ten years. The logistics industry moves products to your home and businesses, with careers that entail assembling and packaging products, operating forklifts and other machinery, warehouse management, and more.field of Warehousing and Logistics are currently in high-demand.  People who work in this field can find career opportunities working with local industries in a few months.

Welding is a high-paying career field and welders are needed in many different types of industries in our service area, making it a high-demand career field as well. Welders have the earning potential to make as much as a doctor or a lawyer without a a four-year degree.  The welding program at NETC includes four different certification programs including ARC welding, TIG, MIG, and Flux Core.  Students can earn all four certifications in less than 15 weeks. New welding classes are starting each semester.

Careers in Industrial Plant Maintenance are in high-demand in Chesterfield, Marlboro & Dillon counties. Industries in our area are looking for highly trained individuals to maintain equipment and keep the process running smoothly. NETC's program will provide you with industry certification and give you a jump start on a career that has a lot of growth potential in the future.  With this certificate program, students can choose to continue to go straight to work or continue on and earn an associate degree in this career field.

The Machine Tool program at NETC was developed in response to regional employers who expressed a demand for skilled employees who hold industry certification.  This program offers classroom and hands-on training using state-of-the-art equipment. This program give students certification for entry-level careers with a lot of opportunity for growth such as machinists, tool & die makers, production-control and quality-control technicians, CNC programmers, and CNC setup and operators.
